Chris Williams is a sound and visual artist based in Stuttgart. Combining independent research with field recording, photography, video, and other media, he is interested in exploring hidden histories, potentials, and meanings of seemingly ordinary locations and environments. As co-founder of the Glass Bees, a multidisciplinary art project active in New York City from 2005-2012, he realized multimedia installations for the Conflux City Festival, Figment Festival, and Citydrift Festival, among other activities. Since moving to Germany he has been developing projects using similar strategies. Recent works include „Pigments“; a five-hour multimedia performance at Kunstraum 34, Stuttgart, and an audio release of musical compositions (in progress) based on field recordings and other sounds.
